Book Description

The crew is back and they’re dirtier than ever.

Powertools Book 5

Five sexy men with a penchant for love and lust in any variation have formed a crew. They work hard and play harder—together. Though their partnership began in construction, renovating houses and selling them for a mint, they’ve formed a bond around their shared goal to provide women, and each other, with the ultimate sexual experience.

Over the past year, as each member discovered his soul mate—or two—they expanded the reach of their circle, lighting up their nights along with their souls. Monogamous relationships and the desire to start families threaten to put their libertine revelry on the back burner. Will the passion that bonded them fade away? How will the new crew wives cope with the complex relationship the men will always cherish and crave?

Determined to prove they stand by their men, the women decide it’s time to flex some muscle and give the crew a dose of girl power. They collude to take the guys as their horny hostages, using some big guns: boudoir photos, a pillow fight and a calculated foray into partner swapping. But will they have the guts to go through with their plans?

Warning: By Book Five in this series, fans will attest that anything goes in the crew. Be prepared for ménage in every flavor—m/f, f/f, mfm, fmf, and more—along with a slew of that’s what he said jokes. No throwing tomatoes at the author, please!

Book Description

His tools, his rules…

Blackwater, Book 2

Looking at Vance Jennings now, no one would guess that the tough-as-nails building contractor once suffered a broken heart. Twelve years has blunted the pain of the breakup with his high school sweetheart, but not the memory. Until she shows up on his doorstep asking for a second chance.

One look at the sexy redhead, and Vance adds a foot or two to his rock-solid emotional barriers. No way is he letting her back into his life. But he’ll be happy to let her close enough to sample her delectable body.

Shayla Riggs is no longer the vulnerable teenager who was forced to give up her first and only love. She’s older, wiser, and determined to make things right. Except the changes in Vance throw her for a loop. He’s definitely not the sweet boy she remembers. In fact, the grown-up version lights her up hotter than a firecracker.

It takes only a kiss, a caress, to bring back the explosive passion they once shared. But if Shayla can’t find a way to break through the bitter walls around his heart, it just might destroy them both. Again.

Warning: This story contains a stubborn woman intent on seduction and an alpha male with some naughty ideas of payback. Let the fireworks begin!

PRINT

Alliance Volume Two

Freedom

Who knew being bad could be so good?

Voss Potter ran from his life. He wasn’t wanted and was sick of being used as a pawn by his uncle. He thought he would explore the world as a stow away on an old friends ship. The only thing he wasn’t counting on? Maverick Sayers. The sexy first officer he’d lusted after for years.

Maverick Sayers loved his job. Nothing was better than traveling the world with good friends. One order changes his life forever. Protect Voss Potter. Now they are fleeing across the galaxy one step ahead of a money hungry family and a disease that could kill planets.

Can following orders leave to true love?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of violence and forced blood play.

Reward

Vacation can be its own reward.

James Rodrick deserved a vacation. Running around the galaxy protecting people can be a rough road. His first officer was nicely settled and a cure for a deadly disease had been found. Time for a break. Alphonse Carter was not what the doctor ordered. A con man on the run does not a vacation make.

Alphonse Carter lived life high on the hog pretending to be something he wasn’t. His undercover identity was discovered and now he must flee before he is caught by the wrong side. Hijacking a captain with Alliance ties wasn’t in the cards, but he had to take what he could.

Will mistaken identity cause havoc or romance?

All work and no play? Not for this girl. Not anymore.

Melissa Sparks has had enough. Enough of being the high achiever, enough of ignoring her social life in favor of her job and enough of being lonely. Just this once she wants a change. Something different. Something that looks very much like her business associate, Ben Cowley.

Ben Cowley is all alone in the deserted offices of Preston Elks. He’s gorgeous, he’s single and he’s been her secret fantasy for the last two years. It’s a split-second decision, but there’s no going back.

When Ben looks up from his desk, the last thing he expects to see is his too-serious, straight-laced colleague stripping naked. It’s been a year since his last relationship ended, and though he’s still picking up the pieces, Melissa throws his carefully balanced world off its axis. So does her offer: a brief affair, no strings attached.

Right about the time he realizes a simple affair will never be enough, she’s back in professional mode—and clearly as distant as ever. Now it’s up to him to show her that what they have is no fluke…and he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her. Even if it means inviting another man into their bed.

Warning: This book contains a man haunted by his past decisions, a woman determined to succeed, sex hot enough to steam up every office window on the block, and a voyeur who gets off watching those windows steam up.

His music moves the world. Can his love move her heart?

Nick Blackthorne knows all about words of love. They’re the reason he’s the world’s biggest rock star. The irony? He turned his back on love a long time ago, lured away by the trappings of fame.

An invitation to a friend’s wedding is a stark reminder of how meaningless his life has become. When he enters that church, there’s only one woman he wants on his arm—the one he walked out on a lifetime ago. But first he has to find her, even if all she accepts from him is an apology.

Kindergarten teacher Lauren Robbins once had what every woman on the planet desires. Nick. Their passion was explosive, their romance the stuff of songs…and it took fifteen years to get over him. Then out of the blue Nick turns up at her door, and all those years denying her ache for him are shattered with a single, smoldering kiss.

But molten passion can’t hide the secret she’s kept for all these years. Because it’s not just her heart on the line anymore…and not just her life that’ll be rocked by the revelation.

A Brotherhood of Blood story

Detective Sally Decker’s Wyoming trip to visit her newlywed friend, Carly, turns into a dangerous adventure into the unknown when she learns Carly’s husband is a master vampire, and there’s a pack of werewolves living just up the road. As if that wasn’t alarming enough, the sexy Alpha wolf has taken a shine to her.

Jason Moore is an Alpha on a mission to make Sally his own. His very public seduction doesn’t sit well with the pack’s available females, but instinct tells him that Sally can handle anything, including any werewolf bitch dumb enough to challenge her.

Romance gives way to a call to arms when the pack’s children come under attack. Their rescue mission turns into a mating dance and the hunt is on in more ways than one. Their attraction is mind-bendingly hot, though startling revelations about his magic and her origins could drive a wedge between them forever. Can love help them bridge the chasm between their worlds?

Danger prowls on two legs…

Office Affair:

An Excerpt

Melissa ran a tongue over her upper lip so it glistened even more. She walked over to the chair on the other side of his desk and laid her jacket upon it. “You should know me better than that, Ben. I never joke when it comes to finding solutions to problems. You have a problem, and I have the solution. You need a woman, and it just so happens…I am one.” To prove her point, she slipped open the first three buttons on her blouse, allowing Ben a healthy glimpse of what lay beneath—a tight, white camisole that covered the full curves of her breasts.

Ben’s jaw dropped.

That was all it took for him to get an erection. With a sudden rush of blood, his cock filled and stiffened, leaving him perplexed.

A stiffy?

For Melissa?

Considering friendship was one thing. Being hit for six by an unexpected dose of lust another altogether.

“Now please don’t mistake this for anything it’s not,” Melissa told him. “It’s not as if I’m going to start bringing food into work for you.” She rolled her eyes, mocking herself. “That’s a good thing, by the way. I’m a terrible cook.” Her smile was small, but it still lit up his office. “And I’m not going to get all soppy and lovey-dovey on you either.” She spoke more seriously now. “This is just one solution. Sex. That’s all, nothing more.”

Ben gaped at her. Sex? Melissa Sparks was offering to have sex with him?

She smiled again. This time with a seductive, sexy expression he’d never dreamed he’d see on her face—not directed at him anyway. The smile was just as enchanting as the previous one. “You look surprised.”

“Er, a little surprised, yeah.” Even more surprising was the fact he could form words. Melissa? Seducing him?

Melissa undid the rest of her buttons and pushed the shirt off her shoulders, so she was now clad from the waist up in just the camisole.

Fuck, she looked sexy. Damn sexy. Sexy in a way Melissa had never looked to Ben. Uh—not just sexy. She was prime female flesh. All woman. And she did crazy things to his insides.

She made breathing difficult. Made him wonder if someone had messed with the air conditioning, because the temperature seemed to have jumped about twenty degrees in the last couple of minutes.

Ben was forced to loosen his tie and undo his top button. Anything to get fresh air on his feverish skin.

“Here’s the deal—assuming you agree, because this would involve both of us.” Melissa pulled the cami up and over her shoulders, leaving her breasts covered by nothing more than a satiny white bra.

Holy shit. She had a pair on her.

So not what he should be concentrating on. He should be remembering that she was a colleague. An excellent investment banker. A woman who’d given him outstanding advice and support over the years.

“You get to fuck me whenever the stress and tension get to be too much. This won’t be a relationship. Well, not a traditional relationship, anyway. This’ll just be a natural extension of our working association. We work, we fuck, we go home. End of story. I’m not interested in deep and meaningfuls.”

Melissa ducked her head as she said that, but Ben still caught a glimpse of some unidentifiable emotion in her eyes. Sadness? Loneliness? Determination? He couldn’t tell.

She released the clasp and zip on her skirt and stepped out of it gracefully. “I am, however, focused on making partner. Which means my romantic life’s suffered because I work ridiculous hours. But, see, I’m just as human as you are.” She blushed, telling him that as focused as she was on making her little speech, her actions still embarrassed her a little.

Shy? Melissa? Well, there was a fascinating new insight into her.

He liked that shyness. A lot. Liked her uncertainty. Melissa never seemed uncertain.

“I have needs,” Melissa said, still with the delightful pink stain on her cheeks. “You have needs. Let’s meet those needs together and not get involved any deeper than that. What do you say?”

Ben wanted to respond. Christ, he wanted to badly, but first off, he wasn’t sure what he’d say, and secondly he couldn’t find his voice. His mouth was suddenly parched.

Garters?

His straight-laced colleague wore thigh-highs and garters under those practical skirts? Garters that matched her bra and knickers and made her legs look a mile long, by the way.

How could he not have known that?

A bead of perspiration slid down his spine.

Q. First of all where are you from?

*

From a small town in New Jersey. I’m living there right now, having come back to raise my kids where I grew up.

*

*

Q. What do you like to read?

*

Anything. I love a good story.

*

*

Q. What do you love about being an author?

*

I love almost everything about being an author. I do really love hearing from readers.

*

*

Q. Where do you get your inspiration?

*

I don’t know. I think it must be a compilation of things that builds up in my mind overtime and eventually forms into something else entirely.

*

*

Q. If you were to make a bumper sticker for your car that had to relate to erotic romance, what would it say

*

Erotic Romance Authors Do IT Every Day.

*

*

Q. Do you tend to base your characters on real people or are they totally from your imagination?

*

With very few exceptions, entirely from my imagination. Sometimes movie stars are physical muses for the heroes but even that is rare.

*

*

Q. If you could meet a paranormal being or character of your choice with no safeguards, what/who would you choose and why?

*

A werewolf but only if he had eaten and had mellowed by finding his mate

*

*

Q. What do you like or dislike about eBook publishing?

*

I think there is still some misunderstandings about it from people who don’t understand what it really is. I love e-book publishing. I’ve been very lucky to be doing this when I am and with the publishers I’m working with.

*

*

Q. Book pirating is a big issue at the moment. Can you tell our readers how this impacts on you and other authors?

*

We lose a lot of money to pirates. I’ve had literally-thousands-of books pirated. If you think of what that adds up to in lost royalties…its tough to take. I basically have to think of myself as working for myself, as being self-employed. I have an hourly rate, sort of. If my books don’t sell, or a particular series doesn’t sell, I have a choice. I can keep writing it, take the time out of writing things that do, and lose money or I can stop writing it. It’s a business decision between the publisher and me. Some things don’t sell well. That’s the nature of the business. Its to be expected. But then to see that same series being downloaded thousands of times for free…it takes away money from me that I would be using to help take care of my family. So, for me, it can actually mean I stop writing a particular book series.

*

*

Q. What are your current projects?

*

I am writing the next Outsider book and waiting to hear back on a few submissions.

*

Q. Can you tell us a little about your latest release?

*

*

I have has a new subseries, Shifters and Bikers, that is part of Decadent’s The Edge releasing soon.

Unwanted Mate

Judy is Gunther’s mate—he knows they’re meant to be together. But his little human isn’t so sure. A tragedy brings Judy knocking on his door. When these two finally come together, sparks fly that could lead to forever.

*

*

Bar Mate

Wolf-shifter Yvette Nelson is incredibly bored with her job, working as a waitress at Gunther’s Bar. It’s always the same scene, the same noise. Until one night, when a man she’s never met comes into the bar. He’s dressed like a typical Biker but there’s something about him she can’t dismiss. She has to have him right away.

A quickie in her boss’ office brings out some unexpected consequences she hadn’t anticipated and she can’t control.

*

Mate by the Music

Scott Quaid hasn’t seen his brother Stark in over week and it’s just not like his younger brother to be out of touch. He knows he stopped at Gunther’s Bar and that was the last time anyone heard from him. In a rage of worry, he rides his motorcycle through the rain to Gunther’s to find out what happened to Stark.

He doesn’t find Stark but he does encounter Nancy Elwood who is working the bar alone that night. Nancy is full of surprises—and vulnerability. Before long, all Scott wants is to make her his in all possible ways.

*

Out of Place Mate

Sean Quaid’s brothers don’t think he is very shifter-friendly. He certainly does not seem happy that they have both married and haven’t been showing up to work. Victoria Bensen wants nothing more than to cool him down and get him to stop making such a scene at Gunther’s Bar.

When she drags him back to the staging room at the back of the bar, she doesn’t know that it will be Sean bringing down her barriers, not the other way around.

*

*

As a teenager, I would hide in my room to read my favorite romance novels when I was supposed to be doing my homework. I hope, these days, that my parents think it was worth it.

I am the mother of three adorable boys and I am fortunate to be married to my best friend. We live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.

I am in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and try to use all of these elements in my writing. I’ve been told I’m a little bloodthirsty so I hope that when you read my work you’ll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. I love to write series because I love to see characters develop over time and it always makes me happy to see my favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In my world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

I’d love to hear from you!

In a world where everyone possesses magic to some degree or other, Llyskel is powerless, unable to perform even the smallest magic-based tasks. All his life, he’s been under constant guard for his own protection from the magical world around him, much to his annoyance. The only time Llyskel feels free is when he paints, where the only spells he needs are the ones he weaves with brush and paint, capturing moments of beauty and giving them immortality on canvas.

Llyskel harbors a secret wish, though, a dark desire that haunts his nights. Only Ariv, a captain in the King’s army, seems to sense the truth of Llyskel’s needs. The pull he feels to Llyskel is unavoidable, and the passion between them undeniable. But Ariv isn’t the only one interested in Llyskel. The Queen of a neighboring country expresses her interest in the boy’s talents, but her true intent goes far beyond a love of art. And what she asks may be too high a price for any of them.

All through writing ‘The Fifth Son’ I was deeply immersed into Llyskel’s skin, Llyskel’s thoughts, desires and history. This is, for all intents and purposes, Llyskel’s story. And yet, I knew all about Ariv as well. I had to. He was constantly walking around Llyskel’s perimeter, guarding, waiting, wanting… Much of that, happens behind the scenes, so, today, I’m going to give you all a little peek into Ariv’s mind.

First came desire: Ariv loved exploring limits, but not as much as he loved bringing joy. He looked down at his bound boyfriend and couldn’t stop himself trailing his fingers along his side, tracing the rope, the knots, feeling him writhe and listening to his moans. There was something so utterly powerful about tying a man up and being able to do just about anything to them. Yet nothing was as powerful as the desire in his boyfriend’s eyes.

Then came anguish: The first time Ariv got stunned, he was one of a group of new soldiers. As they fell down, Ariv caught the pained look of the soldier next to him and his cock stiffened. There was something about the way his body arched, something about the way the muscles strained that reminded him of what happened when he bound his boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend. He barely suffered the effects of the spell himself, because he couldn’t stop looking at the soldier next to him, seeing the anguish on his face and suddenly feeling the need to see it again.

Then came longing: Too young. Ariv had to keep reminding himself of the prince’s youth as he watched him paint, watching him gaze at the soldiers in the field with a faraway look in his eyes. He knew that look so well, had seen it in many men as he told them what he planned to do to them. Never this fierce. The boy was struggling with his desire, that much was obvious, but the longing seemed to win. Ariv wished he could take the boy and make his dreams come true.

Excerpt:

It started with a line, just one line, and before I knew it, the line became a brushstroke, a smear, a shape. Once I started with that line, I could not stop until it was done. I needed to capture every detail, every hint of movement—from the biggest tree to the tiniest flower, to the way the leaves shuddered in the wind. Whether brush or pencil, canvas or pad, I could not put my tools down until that first line had become a finished work, no matter how long it would take.

Which is how I found myself standing at the edge of the waterfall in the fast-fading sunlight.

I had chosen a spot halfway up to the waterfall when I arrived shortly after midday. The rays of sun hit the waterfall just right, creating a beautiful play of shadows as the water crashed into the shaded fen, spraying drops of light everywhere. I spent hours trying to recreate the movement, the shadows, the sparkling water. The changing light made it difficult, but that first image was so clear in my mind that I hardly had to look up from my work. Surrounded by the thundering sound of the waterfall and the smells of fresh water, tangy hindra bushes and sweet yellow nara flowers, I worked until I had put the last bit of shade in.

I should have gone home then, but I had barely wrapped the painting when the water nymphs came out to play. They must have known I was there, but they splashed around as if I weren’t, their lithe figures almost floating on the surface. I had never seen them so joyous and I couldn’t resist painting them, losing track of time in the process.

With one last look at the water nymphs, I hoisted my bags onto my shoulders and made my way down the path leading to the castle grounds. I would have to hurry; it would be dark soon and Father would be furious when he found out I had sneaked off without my guard, Neia, again.

He had warned me over and over to not stray too far and to always take Neia with me. But it wasn’t easy to paint with someone constantly watching me. Neia tried to keep her distance, but I still felt her eyes on me all the time. I itched to be alone—not alone in my room, no, alone out here, painting without being disturbed or being told when to go home.

So I tricked Neia into believing I would be in town all day with Endyrr, one of my brothers, who was visiting Kalnor, his lover. Of course, Endyrr and Kalnor firmly believed I had been at the castle since midday, because they had accompanied me back to the outer gardens. It had been easy to grab my leather painting bags from their hiding place in the hedge, and walk out again after they had disappeared from view. With no one working in the gardens at midday, there was no danger of me being seen.

My crunching steps sounded loud in the otherwise quiet forest; I could barely even hear the waterfall over them. I kept my eyes on the ground in front of me, avoiding thorns and poison ivy as best as I could and stepping over any stumps and branches in my way. I should have taken the path. It was wider and there were fewer obstacles to trip over in this fading light, but this way I’d reach the castle grounds sooner, hopefully before anyone figured out I wasn’t where I said I’d be. At least Endyrr couldn’t tattle; he was staying at Kalnor’s for the night.

Leaves rustled behind me and I froze. I hoped it was one of the castle’s cats out hunting and not a boar smelling dinner, but I still changed my grip on the bag holding my paints and palette. It was heavy enough to hit a boar with, surely. Not that I thought of moving—I was taught to be as still as possible when the boars were around— but if it moved, I would.

A twig snapped, in front of me this time, and I was tempted to close my eyes.

“Don’t move.”

I sighed as I recognized Captain Ariv’s deep, gravelly voice, relieved to have one of Father’s men to help me, but annoyed at being caught off grounds.

Something shiny caught my eye, but before I could make it out, I heard the zing of a shooter and the boar behind me dropped with a low-pitched whine. I felt the ground tremble, but when I looked back, I saw nothing. It was probably hidden by the hindra bushes.

“Come. It’ll stay down long enough for us to get out of here.”

I turned around to face the captain, only to discover a shooter aimed at me. No, not at me, at the boar, but that didn’t matter. The shooter was right in my line of sight, the way it always happened in my fantasies. The copper shooter glinted in the barest hint of light and I shivered as I caught a whiff of lingering magic amongst the tangy smell of the hindra bushes.

The hand holding the shooter was large and strong, a perfect fit around the shooter’s handle. I was painfully aware that I wasn’t alone and I swallowed the moan threatening to escape. I resisted the urge to adjust my trousers, covered by my, thankfully, loose tunic, and tried to take deep breaths that kept ending in gasps and did nothing to stop my body responding as if to a lover’s touch. I wanted to look away, but I couldn’t. I longed to feel the effects of a stunning spell, wanted that strong hand to pull the trigger, to…

I bit my lip to keep from making a sound and moved my bags in front of me, hoping Captain Ariv hadn’t noticed my reaction. I needed to look away, needed to move, but I was frozen again. This time it had nothing to do with fear.

When he finally lowered his shooter, my head bowed with it, my eyes following its descent until it disappeared behind his back. I sighed.

“Your Highness? What are you doing out here?”

I forced myself to look up at him, held up my bags, and aimed for a smile.

Captain Ariv frowned. “You’re not supposed to—”

“Stray off the grounds. I know,” I interrupted him, ignoring the slight wobble in my voice. “I lost track of time.”

“And Neia?”

Ouch. There was that. The story of my life. The fifth son of the King of Eizyrr, the powerless one who needed constant supervision, the one who could never fight for his kingdom. No doubt I’d be the talk of the training field tomorrow: wandering outside the castle grounds again without his guard and retrieved like a stubborn little puppy. I only barely kept from balling my fists. I wasn’t a stripling any more. “D’you think you can take me to my rooms, Captain?” I said as calmly as I could manage.

For a moment he just looked at me, eyes narrowed, as if trying to see into me. Then he smiled, a wide smile that made me wonder if he was up to something.

“Of course, Your Highness. I take it you don’t want the king to know?”

I doubted that was possible, but I nodded anyway.

“Well, then, Your Highness. Let me carry that for you and I’ll get you past the guards.”

I almost refused, but if he wanted to carry my bags for me, so be it. He looked surprised as he took them, yet hefted them both onto one shoulder without effort and turned around, clearly expecting me to follow him. Was he really going to sneak me past the guards? Probably not, but it was nice to think he was.

I looked behind me and thought of the water nymphs. I hoped I wouldn’t be grounded for long.

When Jordan Lance isn’t pouring over spreadsheets for Books and Brew, she’s fantasizing about the store’s landlord. Too bad she’s squarely in Gabriel’s “just friends” column. Jordan’s prepared to pine forever—until she meets Casey. The handyman is hot, handsome, charming…and Gabriel’s best friend. Suddenly her wicked fantasies are porntastic times two.

Casey has suspected his friend’s interest in Jordan. If he can push them together, he might get Gabriel off the bimbo train he’s been riding. The plan? Jealousy. And it’s working. It’s not long before Gabriel’s deeper feelings for Jordan emerge. Problem is…so do Casey’s. What happens when two friends want the same woman? Red-hot ménage, baby.

Two gorgeous men playing every inch of her body? Um, yes please! Jordan doesn’t know if threesomes are considered acceptable, but she’s sure of one thing—being this bad feels far too good.

What’s the sexiest feature on a man to you?

If you want a physical feature, I’d have to say eyes. I love eyes, they truly are the window to the soul. Otherwise, the sexiest feature on a man or a woman is intelligence.

*

What was the very first romance you ever read? How old were you?

John Jake’s epic novel of the Civil War, The North and The South. And, it’s not really a romance, but I found the relationship between the main characters of Taylor Caldwell’s Captains and Kings tragically romantic.

*

What’s your earliest childhood memory?

I was three, maybe four. It snowed and my Dad spent hours towing us all up the hill outside our house so we could coast down on the sled we’d gotten for Christmas. It was super cold, but we didn’t want to go in, because my Dad traveled a lot and we enjoyed his attention. Finally, my mom made everyone go inside for hot chocolate and cookies. My Dad waited till everyone else was gone, jumped on the sled behind me and we took one last run, together.

*

Does the title of a book you’re writing come to you as you’re writing it, or does it come before you even begin the first sentence?

Both? Sometimes an entire story comes from a title that pops into my head, like The Librarian. Others, I write the whole story and then stress over what to call it. That happened on this month’s release, Loving Eden.

*

Without getting up, can you tell us what’s under your bed? (yep, another sneaky question.)

A set of leather luggage, an antique quilt in a plastic container, some shoes, dust bunnies, and the remote control to the television.

*

Has someone helped or mentored you in your writing career?

I belong to an amazing group called Story Orgy, six writers- Em Woods, Havan Fellows, Hank Edwards, JR Boyd, and Jade Baiser- who have been amazingly supportive. We do prompt writing together, but they have also been of great help with beta reading, talking out plots, etc.

*

Do you listen to music while writing? If so what?

I love music. Always have something playing. Most of the time my list includes Tom Petty and David Bowie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Miller, The Allman Brothers… just tons of artists. Really, everything from The Beatles to Ozzie to Cory Hart and back.

*

Do you have any suggestions for beginning writers? If so, what are they?

When you type the end at the end of the page, it isn’t over. Set that manuscript aside for a week and concentrate on something else, clean house, watch television, re-connect with your significant other. Then, when your characters are blessedly silent, and you can’t remember every word like it was carved upon your ego, then and only then, re-read and edit it. You’ll be amazed by how many more errors you catch that way.

*

Where were you when you got your first contract? Who did you tell first?

I was right here where I am now, on the computer in my kitchen, with Face Book on one screen and my then current WIP on the other. So, I told my beta reader Havan Fellows first. She was right there on chat with me when I opened the email after all. Also, I never would have submitted to Breathless Press if it hadn’t been for her encouraging me to do so.

*

What are you currently working on?

Currently working on the sixth Truth or Dare book, Bella’s story.

*

What do you like to watch on TV?

There are a few things I watch regularly. Glee, Psych, Bones, Criminal Minds …that about covers it. I don’t watch anything in real time, though. I dvr and playback so I can skip the commercials.

*

How much time do you spend writing every week?

LOL- writing, or trying to write? I try to keep it to about forty hours a week. BUT- when the words are flowing and the story is right there? I can easily put in eighty hours in a week.

*

Do you write one story at a time or do you have multiple stories going at once?

Multiple- though usually one is at the forefront and the others are just for when I need a break from it. Right now I have eight WIPS in various stages of completion.

*

If we turned on your eReader right now who’s book would we be reading

Not sure. I usually have several things on the kindle, too. Probably Keith Hale’s Clicking Beat on the Brink of Nada or Josh Lanyon’s The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks

*

Tell us a bit about your recent release, Loving Eden from Breathless Press.

Sure, this is a story of unexpected attraction. Here’s the blurb, and an excerpt.

*

Eden St. Cyr wants to let the boy who’s crushing on him down easy. Drew Harris wants to protect his son from what he considers a disastrous relationship. Neither of them counted on being attracted to the other.

Eden St. Cyr has wandering feet. He shuffles around the country from place to place and college to college, changing majors and lovers at whim. When Bailey Harris starts following him home, mooning around and showing signs of affection, Eden hatches a plan to let the kid down lightly before he leaves for the next semester, the next college, and the next lover.

Drew Harris is stunned at the changes in his son. His responsible dependable, cheerful boy has become a moody despondent, irresponsible teenager. Drew knows exactly who to blame too. When Eden doesn’t return his phone calls, he’s forced to be a little more devious in his plans to get the bad influence out of his son’s life.

An unexpected attraction derails both men from their plans, but when Bailey walks in at the least appropriate time, can things be put right?

EXCERPT

“You’re one of Bailey’s friends? I’m Drew, his Dad.” The man asked, reaching down and picking up Eden’s back pack.

“Yes,” He mumbled in reply, striving to fight down the shivers of arousal that rippled through him with the deep voice. The effect from the answering machine was magnified in person. That voice was a caress in itself, stroking over his body, making him tingle with awareness.

“Let me show you where you’ll be sleeping. I’m putting you in with Bailey. Sorry I can’t stay and talk, but I’ve got to get down to the market in town and pick up some supplies for our weekend.”

Eden willingly followed the man into the house and down a short hallway. Bailey’s dad opened a door and gestured into the room. “Here you go. People should be arriving soon, but I hope to be back before anyone else gets here.”

Eden stepped up to the doorway inadvertently brushing against that hard muscled body as he did so. Heat seared through his thin T-shirt and gooseflesh prickled his arms. He bit his lip to keep the moan inside, just nodding his head, too afraid that his arousal would show to speak. He ducked his head and made to move into the room, when a hard warm hand closed around his upper arm. He found himself turned to face Bailey’s dad, and looked up into puzzled blue eyes.

“We’ll talk later, yes?” The man asserted. Eden was trapped in the depths of those deep blue eyes and unable to utter a response. A big, calloused hand came up to cup Eden’s jaw, thumb rubbing gently over the two-day growth of beard he hadn’t bothered to shave. Shaking his head, Drew began to speak again but then his head tilted slightly to the side and his lips came down. Eden caught his breath in surprise. Surely Bailey’s dad wasn’t going to kiss him?

But he was. Warm dry lips pressed to his own briefly, sliding a little to the side, nipping lightly at his own lower lip. The gentle kiss swept right across his mouth in a brief warm touch that left him craving more. It had barely begun before Drew pulled away. Wow. Pressing his fingers to his still tingling lips, Eden stared after the handsome man who’d shown him his room. Definitely scrapping plan A for this weekend.

Assigned as a specimen collector for a captured cyborg, Chloe is intrigued by the machine disguised as a man. Kidnapped during his daring escape, he takes her on an erotic adventure and shows her that despite the chip in his brain, his humanity is not completely lost.

Formerly known as unit X109GI, Joe is on a quest to discover his origin. While he doesn’t find the answers he’s looking for, he does discover that affection and lust aren’t just for humans. But when it comes to a battle between logic and love, which side will the cybernetic organism–once a man–choose?

Evaluating his feelings will have to wait though, because the military isn’t done with Joe. When they threaten the one thing he wants above all else, he’ll discover something shocking that will rock the new cyborg nation—and fuel a desire for vengeance.

Excerpt (Adult Content Ahead):

The sight of Chloe and Seth so at ease with each other, and worse, touching each other set something off inside Joe, a combination of irrational anger sprinkled with a covetousness he’d not experienced but had heard of. Jealousy.

Whatever the name for the emotion, he found himself unable to halt it as he ripped Seth away from Chloe’s side and sent his fist into the grinning face. He maintained enough control to not beat his friend to a pulp — barely — but he couldn’t stop himself from slinging Chloe over his shoulder and stomping off to their room.

“What the heck was that about?” she exclaimed as she dangled down his back.

“You seem to have forgotten who you belong to.”

She didn’t say anything for a moment. “Are you jealous?”

“No.” Yes!

“It’s normal to feel that way. It just never occurred to me you would.”

“I don’t. Jealousy is a human emotion. I am a cyborg. We are above such petty wastes of our time.”

“Really. Well then, someone should probably explain that to Seth’s face,” she drawled.

“This is not entertaining. You were practically inviting him to take ownership of your body.”

“I was not,” she exclaimed, and a small rational part of him knew she spoke truly, but he’d lost the ability to decipher logic from madness where she was concerned.

Arriving at their room, he tossed her onto the bed and quickly tore at his clothes.

“What are you doing?” she asked, her eyes wide, but not with trepidation if the protruding nipples through her shirt were any indication.

“Showing you who owns your body.”

“Me.”

“Wrong answer,” he growled. “I do. And it seems I must show you.”

He fell on her, and despite her previous defiant answer, she welcomed him with open arms and a fierce kiss. Her legs spread wide to accommodate his body, but while he’d denuded his frame, she remained dressed. Their hands met at the closing to her pants, their impatient battle to remove them more of a fumbling parody. When he finally managed to strip them from her, he was ready to sink himself into her. He retained enough wits though to realize she required preparation for his penetration. With sex bots, that never proved a concern as they arrived to service pre-lubed. Human females however, according to his studies, required stimulation to achieve the same state. He slid a hand between her thighs and, to his relief, found her already soaking wet. It pleased him, on a level he did not understand, that Chloe achieved this state around him without means of manipulation.

He wasted no more time. He propped himself above her and thrust into her sex. Oh, the exquisite, unexplainable feel of her channel clamping tightly around his cock. He would never tire of it. Never tire of her. But did she feel the same about him? He had to know.

“Tell me who you belong to.”

Her eyes opened part way, her lids heavy with arousal. “Why do you care?”

He rammed into her hard. She gasped.

A growl left him. “Do not toy with me. You are my female. Not Seth’s. Not anyone else’s. Say you belong to me.” He almost roared the words, desperate to hear her say it.

For a moment defiance flashed in her gaze. “And if I don’t?”

Compass Brothers, Book 4

Leah Hollister’s sex life needs a swift kick in the pants. Small-town Compton Pass, though, isn’t the place to explore her need for bondage. When she gets an invitation to a BDSM party out in LA, she wastes no time booking a flight.

Her plan to play anonymously is shot to hell when she runs into high-school crush Sawyer Compton—and he lays immediate claim to her.

Sawyer Compton commands total control, in and out of the bedroom. He never thought Leah could handle his darker urges, but one look at the white bracelet that marks her as a sub ripe for the picking, and he knows exactly how this night is going to end. With Leah in his bed.

Leah didn’t expect to enjoy the comfort Sawyer’s familiarity brings, even as his touch takes her to unimaginable heights of pleasure. When bad news from home sends him reeling, she’s more than prepared to offer him anything he needs: her body, her friendship. Even her heart—if Sawyer can loosen the reins over his own to accept her love.

(Permission to quote obtained in writing)

Writing Mantras

Over the years, I’ve developed what I call my writing mantras. These are succinct little statements that apply to various parts of writing and pack a lot of motivation and guidance in a few short words. Here are some of mine. (And by “mine”, I mean I’ve gathered them together. Attributions noted where I can remember. And while these are the people from whom I first heard these sayings, I’ve been asked to note that they might not have coined them initially.)

Awesome m/m writer Alex Beecroft recently said, “If you want to stay sane in this business, don’t get too attached to short-term results.” And she’s right. Although e-publishing moves pretty quickly, traditional publishing still takes years: years to write the book, to edit and polish, to land an agent, to find a publisher, and once you’ve passed all those major milestones, another 18 months or so till it hits bookstores. Nothing short-term about that!

But I’m not a quitter! Alex’s comment led me to my own current mantra: If not this book, the next!!!

And I live that. While I shopped SHIFT HAPPENS around, I wrote SCYTHE DOES MATTER. And while I waited her hear back from the agent who would eventually sign me, I wrote my latest story for Riptide Publishing, FEW ARE CHOSEN. While I waited to hear from Riptide, I wrote FIENDS. And now, while FIENDS is out a beta, I’m starting down a new writing road. So if not this book, the next!!!

I took a writing course with Dr. Cynthia Walker, who once said: “Writer’s block is just not knowing what to write next.” Which led me to learn if you outline, you never have major problems. And if you write yourself into a corner, go for a walk, a drive or do housework. But the #1 place to solve plot problems: The Shower: It’s where they keep the ideas. (So keep a Dive Slate there before they wash down the drain.)

Riptide author Cat Grant once advised me to: “Give ‘em someone to talk to.” (Meaning too much introspection is a bad thing. And just having your protagonist talk to her cat doesn’t count.) She also said: “No one wants to read about people thinking, they want to read about people doing things.” Great advice, Cat!

Lee Rowan has some awesome advice: “Do Not Bore Thy Reader.”

EM Lynley shared with me: “Write something every day, even if it’s just on your notes or outline. This keeps me at least thinking about the story and when I go to add the comments to the notes I get excited about the story again.”

I think Nora Roberts is credited with saying: “You can’t edit a blank page.” Someone else said: “Allow yourself to write a shitty first draft.”

Pal Andy Taylor said: “Don’t mistake detail for description.” Too often I see shopping lists or catalog descriptions inserted in stories intended to “color” a story but just end up sounding like the padding that they are.

“Playing Freecell is too working!” (That’d be me. No explanation required.)

“Hurt your hero, hurt ‘em some more, and when you can’t hurt them anymore, blow something up!” (from my fandom days, although I can’t remember the originator.)

“There’s no scene that’s so bad it can’t be saved by dialogue.” (Overheard at a recent RWA meeting.)

“Bickering =/= conflict. More bickering =/= raising the stakes.” (Me again, after judging contest entries this summer.)

“The writing process for each novel is different.” (no idea who said this, but it’s true.)

“The more you write, the faster it gets, but never any easier.” (I think I said this.)

“Why do research when you can make sh*t up?” (Me, again. If you love research, more power to you. I’m actually knee deep in research for my next novel.)

And the worst writing advice ever: Don’t write to market. (Yeah, because writing and shopping around unsalable novels for the fun of it is my career goal—NOT!) EM Lynley amended: “Don’t write just to market. Write what you love because that passion comes through.” So I changed it to: “If you wish to be published, it’s best to find a balance between writing what you love and writing to market.”

The best writing advice ever: Write the best novel you possibly can.

And a definitive quote, attributed to Neil Gaiman: Just. Finish. It.

FEW ARE CHOSEN by Storm Grant

Sparks fly between virgin teenage demon hunters when the Chosen One turns out to be… the Chosen Two?

Apprentice warrior Blake St. Blake is the Chosen One, raised by an ancient order to defend the world against evil. Well, maybe not the whole world, but at least his neighborhood in downtown Detroit.

When a dreaded reflux demon is sighted in a local cemetery, Blake is sent off to his very first battle, armed with his sword, his super-senses, his black leather duster, and a few well-rehearsed one-liners.

But another Chosen One gets in Blake’s way—an apprentice wizard named Shadow. While the boys argue about who’s the more chosen of the two, the demon escapes.

Blake wants to be angry, but it turns out he and Shadow have a lot in common. Besides, Shadow’s pretty cute, and Blake can’t help but think that the wizard’s skills (and hands and lips and other bits) might make the perfect complement to his. Blake and Shadow are brave enough to challenge the reflux demon in a second battle, but will they have the courage to tell each other how they feel?

Book four in the Alliance Series

To pen name or not to pen name…that is always the question

Some friends have asked me…why do you have a pen name? Are you ashamed of what you write?

Um, NO. I know that some people don’t like erotic romance. I also know many people do and will not tell you, and I respect that.

A pen name is more about protection instead of embarrassment—at least for me. I live in a small NC town with 4 stoplights and 20 churches. I don’t want a tent revival in my front yard, because they’d kill my grass and trample my flowers.

A pen name is also about family. Does my family care that they have a mother, wife, sister, aunt, or daughter that writes erotic romance? I don’t want to cause any backlash to anybody but myself. Now, if I ever make it to the NY Times or the USA Today’s bestseller list, my family may have to go into hiding, because I’m sure that I won’t be able to contain my exuberance.

I’ve heard that some erotic romance authors had stalkers so bad they had to disband their website and change their email. These weren’t the good kind of stalkers. I’m not being stalked, so this isn’t an issue for me.

Remember the lady who was a high school English teacher. (I’m not using her name now, because I haven’t asked permission.) Some parents of her students didn’t like the fact that she wrote erotic romances. These parents wanted her to teach English OR write erotic romances—not both. The local news got wind of the story and plastered her books and picture all over the nightly news. Of course, they couldn’t fire her, because that would be discrimination, but I’m sure she didn’t want the attention. I want to be an employee by day and an erotic romance writer by night.

So a pen name is purely a personal choice driven by many things.

Cat Watson managed to escape from the powerful drug lord Alvarez and right into the hands of the notorious killer-Rabid Rio. Rio promises to protect her and her baby if she becomes his mistress. With no money, what choice did she have?

Rio Wolff has found his mate, and shes carrying another man’s child, not that it makes a difference to a werewolf. Cat’s running from the bastard, and only he can save her. It would help if she’d stop trying to run away every time he turns his back.

Creed Wolff gazes at the beauty standing in his kitchen and wonders why Rio has broken the rule never to bring a female home. She’s Creed’s mate so he can forgive his brother. Now he needs to replace Rio’s scent with his.

Cat can’t believe she lets both brothers pleasure her. Finally, she’s found a place where she feels safe, protected, and loved. But her world crashes when she finds out they have sold her to Alvarez.

Q. First of all where are you from?

I was born in Troy, New York, but moved to the New Orleans area when I was 22. I now live about two and half hours from New Orleans.

Q. What do you like to read?

I’m afraid I don’t have terribly eclectic tastes. I love romance, both het and m/m, so I read lots of them. I’ve read biographies and autobiographies all my life, starting with Eleanor Roosevelt’s when I was just a girl. She was from New York and often visited my hometown, where her friend lived. We’d see her sitting on her friend’s porch on occasion, of course, that was near the end of her life.

Q. What do you love about being an author?

I love telling stories, creating the characters, having them do what I want them to do and then getting the reactions from readers. When a story resonates with a reader, there’s no better feeling.

Q. Where do you get your inspiration?

I might hear a line in a movie or something someone said in a restaurant and it sets my mind to working. See next question. J

Q. Do you tend to base your characters on real people or are they totally from your imagination?

Usually they are totally from my imagination, usually. I have written characters that have certain traits of people I know, but usually it’s a conglomeration of traits, so it could be ten different people’s manner or looks.

Many times, I search photo sites for the right look for my hero and take it from there. I did that for Reid in A Minute After Midnight. He’s the first guy on the cover.

Q. What are your current projects?

I’m working, albeit slowly, on rewriting an old story that just never managed to get itself submitted. I just recently lost significant changes I’d made to it and therefore lost heart, but I’ll get back to it. It’s a good story I think and I love the characters.

I’m researching and have started writing a story set in old Hollywood. I’m a bit of a Hollywood trivia buff and I love old movies, so it’s seemed a natural for me to create a story in that era. It traces a young man’s life from the time he went to Hollywood to the time he retires from “the biz” and seeks a life he can’t have otherwise. I’m very excited about it and hope to have it written by fall.

Q. Can you tell us a little about your latest release?

The title of my latest release is Demands of the Heart. It’s actually the very first story I ever wrote, but has undergone significant rewrites and changes.

It is the story of Richard Fanshaw and Victoria Bramhill and starts with them as young and carefree, just falling in love with each other and life. They don’t know there’s an enemy in their midst and they are soon separated by the cruelty of the enemy and Victoria’s very greedy father.

When they rediscover each other some years later, each has been changed by the intervening years and Richard particularly, has become very jaded and is single-minded in his need for revenge.

I truly love these characters and the story has some twists and turns that are interesting as well.

What’s your favorite hobby outside of writing?

I’ve been a genealogist for many years and though I don’t have much time for that these days, I do dabble. I love old movies and period pieces and watch tons of them on Netflix. And I read as much as I can.

What would constitute your own personal happily ever after?

Spending every moment I can with my husband. I biggest regret is that I didn’t meet him ten years earlier. He’s a phenomenal man and I absolutely adore him. Any time spend with him is the best of my life.

Do you own an e-reader?

I have a Kindle 3 but am dying for a Kindle Fire. I’m not even sure why, really, other that I love gadgets. LOL I do love my Kindle 3 though.

.

Are you a book hoarder?

Oh, my Lord, Yes! I can’t part with a book, ever, so we have books everywhere.

Where are your favorite online hangouts?

Sad to say, I spend much too much time on Facebook. I’m really trying to break the habit, because it is a time suck, but I love talking to my friends and readers. I lurk on Twitter and make a salient comment now and again, but mostly I try to write.

What are your daily must-stop blogs and websites?

I’m not a joiner, so I belong to very few online groups and participate in none. Though I realize it probably would raise my visibility, many deteriorate to gossip and I steer clear of that at all costs. Gossip has hurt many of my friends and I don’t wish to reward that behavior with my presence. But as I said, I’ve never been a joiner anyway.

Writers often go on about writer’s block. Do you ever suffer from it, and what measures do you take to get past it?

When I turn the light off at night, I spend a few minutes going over what I’ve worked on during the day. Sometimes I come to a stopping point where I’m not quite sure what will come next, and those quiet moments in the dark have helped me push through the next scene.

I don’t really suffer from writer’s block. My main worry, writer-wise, is that I will never have enough time to write all I want to write. Great problem, huh?

When someone reads one of your books for the first time, what do you hope they gain, feel, or experience?

Hmm, I suppose that would depend upon which book. I do hope, that if someone is reading my historicals, they know from the writing how much I love history and that particular time period. I hope they feel what the characters feel emotionally and that they, the reader, are a part of the story and that they can relate to some elements of the story.

Does the title of a book you’re writing come to you as you’re writing it, or does it come before you even begin the first sentence?

Titles are so difficult for me. Some come easy, some not so much. The aforementioned story I’m revamping has the most horrendous working title and for the life of me, I haven’t found another one.

Some have been easy. Splendid Captivity was written with that title already set and I created the story around it. A Minute After Midnight was a line in the story and BINGO, it became the title. Same with Chocolate, Tea, and the Duchess.

The newest one, Demands of the Heart, had another name and was submitted under that name, but I changed it mid-stream.

The Sapphire Club series, or the first two books, were named after the books were written, but Serenity’s Dream for instance was referred to as Serenity from the start.

The Rogue’s Salvation was named by my friend Aleks Voinov, when I turned up blank. He beta read for me and suggested that name and it fits the story so well.

Free Me was named by Bryl Tyne, who’d encouraged me to write it in the first place. Its sequel, In His Arms, seemed to name itself, it made sense. Bryan wanted his sexual freedom, as long as it was in Phil’s arms.

An Evening at the Starlight was named by my husband. I was looking for something with a 1940′s feel, and that fit the bill.

Romeo Club was a given from the start.

How would you describe your sense of humor?

Hmm. I laugh rather easily, actually. My husband is extremely funny and after so many years married to him, I still sometimes forget that he always says, “Never take anything I say seriously.” We laugh a lot in our house.

What is a typical day like for you?

I get up, get my coffee and settle in with my laptop. My husband and I have opposite schedules and many times, he’s going to bed when I’m getting up. I write until he rises and then we spend time talking, he goes about his daily “have to dos” and I continue writing until dinnertime, when I usually close down for the day and we spend the evening watching our favorite shows. I’m in bed by 9, read until 10 or 10:30 and then wash and repeat. The exciting life of a romance writer, huh?

When it comes to promotion, what lengths have you gone to in order to increase reader-awareness of your work?

Promotion wears me out – there I’ve said it. It’s one of those necessary things that you must do. I try to do book tours, like this one and run contests to draw people into my web. I talk a bit about my coming releases on social media, but honestly, the one thing I dislike with a passion is the, “Buy My Book,” type promotion and I won’t do that. I guess I’m more understated than that.

Without getting up, can you tell us what’s under your bed? (yep, another sneaky question.)

Yep – dust bunnies Fred and Harold. They make their home there and are quite comfy from all reports. Now who am I to disrupt such a happy home?

If you weren’t a writer what would you be?

A genealogist, maybe looking into become a professional. See it all relates to history.

Lemons or Limes?

Lemons – pie, ade, cake, you name it.

When it comes to the covers of your books, what do you like or dislike about them?

Honestly, when I get the cover request forms, I always say I don’t want naked people on my covers. I’m not even thrilled with naked men torsos, as I think that’s way overdone. I have two with naked torsos and I like them both.

I love my covers and had input in all but two of them. I don’t want covers that make readers cringe, like naked bottoms and such. I truly don’t believe that will sell the book any faster and I like to put my framed covers on my living room wall.

How did you start your writing career?

That’s really quite simple. I would read books and tell my husband the stories. One day he asked me if I thought I could write one of them and that was the start of me actually doing it.

I’ve always written, but mostly for my own enjoyment. I suppose you could say I didn’t have the courage to take it one-step further. Now I realize that I didn’t have a clue what to write before I started writing romance, because I never read romance until ten years or so ago.

Tell us about your favorite character from your books.

Hands down, my favorite character to write was Phillip Allard from Chocolate, Tea, and the Duchess. He’s a hard-bitten duke who’s denied himself his true identity for his entire life. He’s burdened by obligation and social mores, making it seemingly impossible to be who he wants to be sexually. I love how Felicity softens him, though he isn’t really attracted to her and then, when Alexander Chilton enters the picture, he’s truly blossoms.

Has someone helped or mentored you in your writing career?

I’m blessed to know Aleksandr Voinov and he’s been a great help to me. He volunteers to beta for me, even though he barely has time to breathe and gives me honest feedback. His editing has helped me so much and he’s always available to answer questions.

Who is your favorite author?

Hands down, Aleks. Though I’ll never write with the same intensity and grit that he does, I admire him so much. I’m continually amazed at his command of the English language, since it isn’t his native language. He hasn’t written anything that I haven’t liked and he’s led me into genres I would have never considered on my own, just by the strength of his name.

What was your first sale as an author?

April, 2010, I sold Serenity’s Dream to Noble Romance. The walls are still echoing in my house.

Where do you research for your books?

I do most of my research online, but I also buy tons of books on history. I have favorite websites that give me information on various aspects of what I’m writing, but reading gives me the depth I need.

What does your significant other and family think of your writing career?

My family is an amazing group of people who are as supportive as they can be. My husband has read my earlier stuff, but nothing recently—romance novels really aren’t his preferred reading. However, he listens and brainstorms with me all the time.

My oldest daughter called the other day and said that she felt really bad that she hadn’t read any of my stuff—reason being she couldn’t imagine her mom writing such things. However, she’s had an epiphany and asked for copies of my books. I’m thrilled with that and can’t wait to hear her thoughts.

My other two, our son, the oldest of the three and then our youngest daughter, haven’t read anything and probably won’t, but they love that I’m writing and are super encouraging.

My parents are deceased, but I think once they’d gotten over the shock, they’d have been okay with it. My siblings are supportive as well.

Who are your books published with?

Noble Romance, Silver Publishing, Amber Allure, and Riptide Publishing

Do you use a pen name?

Brita Addams is my pen name. My real name is Tina Ordone

If so, how did you come up with it?

A bit of background. When I started writing erotic romance, I wasn’t quite sure how my family, children, would feel about it, so I decided to write under a pseudonym. After they heard that I’d sold my first book, they asked me why I hadn’t used my real name. I have written one book under my real name and they really love that, but my pen name is closely related to my real one.

Brita is actually my middle name and Adam is my husband’s middle name. I added a d and an s, and voila, there you have it.

Here’s the blurb from Demands of the Heart:

In 1807, idealistic Richard Fanshaw and Victoria Bramhill are consumed with each other, their young love blooming amidst a series of carefree soirees and stolen moments.

But jealousy and greed turn what they have into something ugly and twisted. They’re wrenched apart amid vile lies and deceit when Victoria’s freedom is bought to pay her father’s debts.

Six years later, Victoria is widowed and a cynical Richard has just returned to England after years in India. Having been given the impression that Victoria’s marriage was a happy one, a chance meeting renews Richard’s anger over Victoria’s betrayal and sets in motion a plan for revenge.

In this second book The Switch we find out. I loved that even though this is but a glimpse into Carla and Pete’s relationship their story still comes to life for me. The love and trust that they have begun to have is evident in this story. I certainly did not expect their story to go in this direction but I did enjoy it. Right from the start we see the attraction that is between them and as the story goes on we see it burn hotter and hotter. This is a nice entertaining read that had me once again eagerly awaiting another visit with Pete and Carla.

So, I read Hot Head by Damon and really, really loved it. When I found out he was doing a free read for the M/M Goodreads Summer antho they were putting together I couldn’t wait to see what he’d come up with. As it was getting close to his story being released I found out that he actually wrote two. Lol Leave it to Damon. It was something different called Seedy Business and I loved every word and awaited news of when the other one he’d written would release. The cool thing was how different the free read was from Hot Heads and I knew the other story would be in the same universe. Color me happy because I love Sci-Fi/Fantasy and that is what the Hardcell series is.

I finally found out Damon signed with Riptide Publishing and Grown Men would be one of the first books released. I was very excited and counted down the days. Then it was here, the story released and I was enthralled! This story isn’t your typical love story and it is AWESOME because you see the love grow—I think that is one of the best things about the story. It isn’t all sex all the time. You have Runt who is expecting a wife and as the time passes he finds out what he really needed. So the title really does fit…Grown Men because I read the growth of not just Runt, but his feelings. It’s a day to day story of life and the trials of terraforming by yourself and the worry of being ‘retired’ while trying to control urges to sex up the new guy because of pheromones. So yeah, all kinds of interesting stuff happing in this story.

I really can’t wait for the brothers in Seedy Business and Grown Men to meet up and I’m pretty sure that will happen in the next book!! I love Damon’s voice and anxiously await whatever he puts out next!

Book Description: This title is #1 of the HardCell series.

Every future has dirty roots.

Marooned in the galactic backwaters of the HardCell company, colonist Runt struggles to eke out an existence on a newly-terraformed tropical planetoid. Since his clone-wife died on entry, he’s been doing the work of two on his failing protein farm. Overworked and undersized, Runt’s dwindling hope of earning corporate citizenship has turned to fear of violent “retirement.”

When an overdue crate of provisions crashes on his beach, Runt searches frantically for a replacement wife among the tools and food. Instead he gets Ox, a mute hulk who seems more like a corporate assassin than a simple off-world farmer.

Shackwacky and near-starving, Runt has no choice but to work with his silent partner despite his mounting paranoia and the unsettling appeal of Ox’s genetically altered pheromones. Ox plays the part of the gentle giant well, but Runt’s still not convinced he hasn’t arrived with murder in mind.

Between brutal desire and the seeds of a relationship, Runt’s fears and Ox’s inhuman past collide on a fertile world where hope and love just might have room to grow.

Of course that could be because I’ve just finished Steve and Gordie’s story.

Once again the tension builds until I almost felt like screaming from the knowledge that… just around the corner… something, someone, waited.

And even though I experienced the same taut atmosphere building in the first two books in the series, I think that this time it was even more intense. Then there is the same fabulous sensuality that permeates the air around Doc and Steve; yowza!

But what really drew me into the story is Steve; Steve McKenna is, to me, the ultimate hero / leading man. He is super-sexy, caring and so very much in love with Gordie. Doc, for him, is it; the one; his only… and his devotion and dedication for and to her is beyond heartwarming.

But he’s still a man who knows how to wait and when to make a move. He understands Gordie, Doc, better than anyone—including Gordie herself.

It was also really good to meet up again with Rowan and Quinn and Brogan and Eloise. I don’t know if there are any more stories in Ms Cahill’s Coyote Hunger series, but I certainly wouldn’t complain—and there were definite hints.

I guess all I can do is sit back and wait—and hope.

Ms Cahill, you done it again—and I certainly enjoyed the journey yet again.

Book Description: Gordie has tried to keep Steve McKenna at arm’s length, but the sexy coyote shifter is under her skin, in her blood and in her heart. No matter how much she fears what he makes her feel, she can’t bear to stay away. After he rescues her from a vicious attack, Gordie is helpless to deny the sizzling attraction burning between them.

There hasn’t been a day Steve has not wanted Doc in his bed, but bruised and bloody is not what he had in mind. The need for revenge is riding his coyote—almost as much as his aching desire to finally claim Doc as his own. But that will have to wait. He must first convince Doc the safest place for her is by his side. When a second attack draws them together, suppressed needs explode, leaving no doubt where they both belong.

But danger is never far behind and Gordie is forced to make a fatal decision that could destroy all they’ve worked so hard to discover.

What I thought would be an all out kinky and seductive story turned out instead to be passionate and loving. I know how can I come to such a conclusion especially with an explicit content warning that reads “This book contains graphic depictions of intense BDSM situations as well as explicit sexual acts between two males”. Leave the kink and the fetishes on the side for one moment and what you get is two people who genuinely accept each other for who they are.

*
I thought both character’s played well against each other. In the beginning Logan was portrayed as weak and vulnerable and Kasper as strong and successful. As the story unfolds we soon discover that things are not what they seem and spiral out of control and the table are turned. It is through the ups and downs that both men discover self-worth and love.
This is a well written love story that flows effortlessly.

Book Description: After a near-fatal accident, Logan Walker seeks help to control the compulsive blood fetish that almost cost his submissive’s life. Help happens to be in the form of an athletic, smart psychologist by the name of Dr. Kasper Bromley. Kasper, though, soon finds himself swept up in the fantasies Logan came to him to control. Reluctantly throwing his ethics to the wind, Kasper submits himself to Logan, gambling his career, his future, and his heart on this intriguing man and the lifestyle he offers. But when Kasper’s desires outpace Logan’s, the young doctor is swept down into a whirlpool of sex and sadism that even Logan’s love may not be enough to rescue him from.
