“Twas the Night Before Christmas”
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

Every girl’s fantasy…one woman’s dream.
Speed, Book 1
Sophie Butler is sure she’s about to lose her much-needed cleaning job. She’s not only walked in on a guest—a violation of her employer’s cardinal rule—but she can’t seem to tear her gaze away from his gorgeous, naked-as-the-day-he-was-born body.
If all that isn’t bad enough, her usually sensible judgment and behavior are clouded by a nagging sense of familiarity. She knows the man from somewhere, she just can’t quite place him.
Nathan Pace is certain he’s just lost his jealously guarded anonymity. But hold on…if she’s just another fan looking for a piece of his alter ego, rock star Jamie Speed, why is she blushing six shades of scarlet? And why is he instantly aroused? When he catches a glimpse of her eyes, he knows. She’s the woman who for ten years has haunted his dreams.
The attraction that flares between them is undeniable—and unstoppable. But getting close means risking Nathan’s secret identity. Just this once, he’d like a woman to fall for the real man, not the press’s version of a celebrity superstar.
Warning: This may be an erotic contemporary romance, but it does contain a hint of fantasy. And when that fantasy involves erotic dreams about a gorgeous rock star, you know you’re gonna want the fantasy to become reality…

The first in Lexxie Coupers Fire Mates series, Ty the Sexy Dragon is available now from Ellora’s Cave (and soon to come from other booksellers).
Fire Mate, Book One
Life isn’t easy for a modern-day dragon shifter. Unlike those wuss werewolves, dragons can’t just shift and go for a run through the nearest forest. They can’t go flying on a whim. Forget about scared villagers slinging arrows; these days it’s Neighborhood Watch zealots with AK-47s. Then there’s the whole sex issue. Try telling the little cutie at the local Starbucks that a soul-shattering orgasm might end in bed flambé.
No, being a dragon shifter kinda sucks. And for Tyson, it’s even worse—because he’s suddenly in heat. Bad news for the stranger he spies running along Bondi Beach. Ty instantly recognizes Sera as his mate. Now he has to convince her, while also dodging the psychopathic dragon hunter on his tail. Scorching sexual persuasion should do the trick. Hopefully. Because if Ty doesn’t join with his Fire Mate before his heat cycle finishes, bad things will happen. Lots of bad things.

Guest Author Naima Simone
I’ve dealt with Naima for about a year now as the Breathless Press review coordinator and I am thrilled to welcome Naima the author to Ebook Addict Reviews today, talking about one of my favorite things Fairy Tales and their potential as erotic romance stories.
The Princess and the Pea. Cinderella. Little Red Riding Hood.
C’mon, Grimm Brothers and Aesop, you ain’t fooling nobody! We know erotic stories when we read ‘em! Let’s face it, some of the fairy tales we grew up with carry some serious sexual undertones that require the astute–and horny–mind to ferret out the well-hidden… and sometimes not so well-hidden eroticism. And that perceptive mind would be me! But hear me out and you just may end up agreeing with my analysis!
Rapunzel. So reclusive chick with waaay over-protective Mommy Dearest guardian lets down her abnormally long locks to allow people to climb up into her tower that has no way in or out but her tresses. Besides a pretty obvious advertisement for Excedrin who can’t see the erotic theme in this? Amorous man spies lovely, lonely woman who is obviously…uh…sheltered. He tricks her into letting him in her tower–no pun intended there, right?–where they spend time together doing…what? Scrabble? Pictionary? How ’bout he’s teaching her all kinds of naughty, sexy things. The prince turned Rapunzel out! You need further proof? The man had his eyes put out for milk and cookies? Me thinks not!
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Uh…this is so obvious I don’t even have to go into an explanation. We all know what was going on in that hut in the woods, don’t we?
Beauty and the Beast. The very first paranormal erotic romance. C’mon! It’s so clear! We have our first shapeshifter! So let’s delve into this tale that encourages children to peer beyond a person’s appearance to see the heart beneath. Unhuh. Father sends daughter to beast as a snack. Well the beast was eating something when Beauty got there! Ooh that was so crass. Sorry! But seriously, they were in that castle for weeks…by themselves…day after day…night after night…he provided her with clothes and comfort…I’m sooo sure he got nothing in return. Because when he was bewitched it transformed his man parts, too. Say what you want, Beauty was getting sexed by a man who was an absolute animal in bed! ROWR!
Puss in Boots. Do I really have to expound?? I didn’t think so.
Sleeping Beauty. Here’s my take. Because of neglectful parents or near-sighted evil fairy–depends on which version you believe–the princess is consigned to a one hundred year sleep once she pricks her finger on a spindle. Is that not a huge clue that we shouldn’t be doing housework?? But anyhoo, adventurous prince braves the thorned and tangled vines that have killed many a fortune-hunting prince to wake this sleeping beauty. He finds her…once again in a tower! Are these stories Freudian or what?? He wakes her with a kiss. I’m sure she had some serious halitosis going on after one hundred years of sleeping but she’s lying there, in a bed and hasn’t laid eyes on a man in a century. And he just laid a kiss on her. Riiiight.
So am I on to something? Or have I just been writing way too much erotic romance? I’ll let you be the judge.
I still say I’m right though…
Oh wow! Did I mention that I write erotic romance? And that my newest releases with Breathless Press are based on—shut up!—fairy tales? And they’re—you’re sooo not gonna believe it!—erotic! Hee-hee! Loving the Beast, book one in the Fairy Tales Unleashed series, and A Perfect Fit, the second book in the series are now available! And they aren’t yo’ mama’s bedtime stories!! LOL! The blurbs are below!
Loving the Beast blurb:
Gwendolyn Sinclair needs help. And the one person who can give her the aid she urgently requires is exacting a high price.
Desperate to keep the neighborhood community center open, Gwendolyn seeks out Xavier St. James, her childhood friend and the brother of her dead fiancé. Xavier’s family foundation possesses the funds necessary to keep the center open, but instead he offers a bargain—a devil’s bargain: submit her body for his pleasure for seven days, and the building doesn’t close its doors.
Left scarred from an accident, Xavier is bitter, resentful, and alone. When Gwendolyn reappears in his life, need and loneliness override conscience, and he proposes an arrangement she can’t afford to refuse. With the woman he has always wanted but could never have finally in his bed, he hungers for more. Her heart. But could she come to love a beast?
A Perfect Fit blurb:
Once upon a time, there was a young woman of beauty, grace, and good nature…
Blah. Blah. Blah.
Rowyn Jeong knows her no-nonsense, less than warm personality cannot compare to her stepsister Cindy’s bubbly charm and beauty. Hey, everyone has their niche, right? But being the plainer, wicked stepsister has never bothered her more than when Darius Fiore reappears in her life. Darius Fiore, the man she indulged in a one-night stand with six months ago, the businessman threatening her position within her stepfather’s company, and the man her sister has her eyes—and hands—on.
Rowyn has never forgotten the man who allowed her to be someone else for a few sex-filled hours. Now that Darius has turned up in her territory, will he see past the hard exterior to the woman beneath, the one hungry for love and acceptance?

A Gay Romantic Mystery Needs Three Things
by Haley Walsh
Writing what is essentially a fluffy romantic mystery requires three elements:
- Well drawn Characters
- Interesting Plot
- Sexy romance
Let’s take number one here, because without interesting characters whose lives you want to spend 300 pages with, you’ve got nothing much. My character Skyler Foxe is a young, fun-loving guy, a brand new high school English teacher in a bible belt sort of region in southern California. He loves teaching, loves his school kids, has an unnatural obsession with Motown music, and loves going out dancing with his friends, who are all former hook-ups—what are affectionately known as the Skyler Fuck Club—and just wants nothing more than partying on weekends and getting down to English Lit during the week. Of course, this being a mystery, he also falls into murder.
Skyler is a fully formed human being. He isn’t just a gay guy who gets all sorts of wild sex in the books and nothing else. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! But there are scenes when he is at the job he loves, at his high school, interacting with his students and really enjoying connecting with them, teaching them. There are two students in particular, whom he helps come to terms with their sexuality.
And then there is his interaction with his friends, a completely different experience from when he is “Mr. Foxe” at school. As it should be. Aren’t we different to the different people in our lives? With his mother, he’s the dutiful son. In the closet, but the good boy his mother expects him to be. With his best bud Sidney, he gets to completely relax. He has known her since they were kids and though they parted ways in college—he to a teaching program and she to the police academy—they remained close and always made time for the other.
And finally with Skyler’s love interest, he is another person again.
So not only is there a lot of backstory to Skyler, but to all the periphery characters, as well. And there are many. His friends: Jamie, the high-spirited webpage designer; Philip, the straight-looking coffee house owner and his barista Cashmere Funk, a tall Jamaican with a crush on his boss; Rodolfo, the Latin American queen who looks like Antonio Banderas. Then his colleagues at school: the straight-laced principal Wesley Sherman; the no-nonsense vice principal Alice Goodwin; the oblivious art teacher Ben Fontana; Kate Traeger the girls volleyball coach; Julia Meyers the calculus teacher who sees too much; the homophobic football coach with an agenda, Scott Carson; and his assistant coach and biology teacher the very sexy Keith Fletcher. There are also students, Skyler’s favorite class of sophomores: Amber Watson, straight A student with a crush on Skyler; her Goth best friend Heather Munson; Alex Ryan the angry teen with a chip on his shoulder; and Rick Flores, class clown and philosopher.
So with a well-rounded cast of friends, red-herrings, and villains, we can slip into #2, plot.
It’s nice to have a good mysterious puzzle when writing a mystery. I like to have several things going on at once (especially for those who can figure out a mystery quickly. That way they still have other things in the plot to think about). Since this is an amateur sleuth mystery, that is, the “detective” is not a cop or professional investigator, the writer is immediately struck with the problem of logically involving the sleuth in looking for a murderer. I don’t know about you, but if I found a dead body, the first thing I’d do is likely scream and then call 911, and that would be that. But an amateur sleuth has to have a personal interest and is therefore compelled to investigate. And, okay, there must be a certain level of suspension of disbelief on the part of the reader, but that’s what also makes this kind of mystery fun.
In the first book, FOXE TAIL, Skyler finds a dead body outside a dance club and discovers it’s the son of his high school principal. And in the newest book FOXE HUNT, Skyler meets up again with former hook-ups and friends Jeff and Evan, just kicked out of the Army for Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Evan came home wounded and very depressed and winds up dead. The police call it suicide but Skyler discovers it’s murder. Meanwhile, through all this, something fishy is going on behind the scenes at the high school. A math teacher, hinting at her own fears and suspicions, is pushed down the stairs and ends up in a coma. And the gorgeous new assistant football coach is acting suspiciously himself, and seems to know more than he should. So with each book there is its own mystery to solve but there is a greater mystery going on in the background that continues throughout the next two books of the series.
Which brings us to #3 Sexy Romance. Characters were being introduced and so there wasn’t much romance in the first book, FOXE TAIL, but by the newest book FOXE HUNT, Skyler is deeply in the throes of his first real romance with the hunky assistant football coach, Keith Fletcher. The sex is hot and heavy while Skyler tries to reconcile his playboy lifestyle with a grown-up relationship with an older man. Yes, it’s more than just porn involved. It’s making the sex make sense for the story. It ain’t necessarily so for some kinds of erotica, but for books that you want readers to recommend or come back to again and again, there must be more than merely smut. At the same time, there are “aww” moments, truly romantic interludes that not only keep the characters guessing about how they feel but keep readers involved and let them fall in love with the characters, too. That would be the fluffy part.
There needs to be all three elements working in concert with one another—character, plot, and romance. Once you’ve got that, you’ve got a great story.
Haley Walsh writes the Skyler Foxe Mysteries. Her latest, FOXE HUNT, will be released this month in paperback and ebook. Read excerpts at her website http://SkylerFoxeMysteries.com or check out her blog at www.SkylerFoxeMysteries.blogspot.com

Book three in the Seasons of Love Series
For over ten years, Sidney Wilks and Grady Nash have devoted their lives to each other. With their relationship solid and thriving, they each turn their attention to their careers.
Nash loves his job as a day trader but hates what it’s doing to his body. The hours of sitting in front of a computer combined with his love of beer begin to take a toll on his aging body. Worried that he’ll lose Sidney to the hot muscled construction worker his partner works closely with, Nash decides to get his body back into shape, no matter the cost to his overall health.
After the death of his father, Sidney is so busy dealing with the years of hurt and betrayal at the hands of Jackson Wilks that he doesn’t notice the warning signs of Nash’s dangerous new lifestyle. When Nash’s sex drive falters, Sidney turns the rebuffs inward instead of looking at the bigger picture.
It will take the counsel of a close friend to open Sidney’s eyes to what is really going on, but will it be too late?
Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series as all four stories follow the lives of Sidney and Grady.

Top Ten Reasons to Read Erotic Romance
According to Liz Crowe
10. There are only so many numbers in Janet Evanovich’s repertoire. And only a few letters left in Sue Grafton’s alphabet.
9. Stephen King is on hiatus and as amazingly creative, scary and gross as his books are he couldn’t craft a sex scene if his life depended on it (and I love you King, so don’t get all pissy.)
8. You’re fresh out of High Fiction, and can’t focus anyways since reading The Help and The Hunger Games Trilolgy back to back so need a break for something a little less heavy on post apocalypse and Bad Behavior in the South.
7. Sometimes you just need a glimpse of exactly what happens when characters you have committed to shut the bedroom door…that whole “The next morning her lazy smiled belied the pounding she got the night before” thing requires clarification.
6. We all need an occasional dose of shuddering, exquisite ecstasy delivered in phrases that include the words:
flesh (and) rock hard
creamy (and) thighs
puckered (and) nipple
tongue (and) forceful
in the same sentence.
5. You really do want to know if werewolves are voraciously horny after they’ve changed back to human form.
4. The concept that an archetypal alpha male billionaire former Navy seal secret son of a Saudi prince, brought low by the death of his One True Love can be redeemed by near constant sex with a frumpy librarian living hand-to-mouth in her coldwater flat and then whisked away to a fabulous life of excess and true love and non stop passion plus a secret baby for ever after is just too preciously awesome to pass up.
3. You really need to know: is it “cum” or “come”?
2. Because sometimes you just need a hot cowboy or two to sing you to sleep.
And the number One Reason why you should read Erotic Romance?
Because there is nothing more relaxing than an orgasm before sleep. But watch yourself if you’re reading on the beach/plane/bus/work and identify a place for some alone time—otherwise you’ll be jumping the cabana boy/flight attendant/bus driver/copy boy and embarrassing yourself! Read on!
Microbrewery owner, beer blogger and journalist, mom of three teenagers, and soccer fan, Liz lives in the great middle west, in a Major College Town. Years of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an eight-year stint as an ex-pat trailing spouse plus making her way in a world of men (i.e. the beer industry) has prepped her for life as erotic romance author. When she isn’t sweating beer inventory, sales figures or promotional efforts for her latest publication, doing pounds of laundry for her sweaty athletic children, watching La Liga on the Fox Soccer Channel, or trying to figure out what to order in for dinner, she can be found walking her standard poodles or doing Bikram Yoga. On the 20th of September, the 4th and final book in the Bandicoot Cove Series releases at Samhain Publishing.
Island Idyll is a red-hot, contemporary novella, with enough romance and loving to get you all nice and steamy.
ISLAND IDYLL: The blurb
Adolescent fantasies can grow into very adult realities.
Sienna James has come to Bandicoot Cove to mourn the end of her eight-year relationship with Ben Cowley. The last person she expects to meet is the star of every one of her high school fantasies.
Joshua Lye is not only as appealing as he was in high school, he reveals she was the main feature in his adolescent wet dreams. As kids they never got it together. But they’re adults now, and there’s nothing keeping them apart.
When Ben arrives at the resort determined to win Sienna back, finding another man in her bed kind of throws a spanner in the works. But he isn’t deterred. Rather than admit defeat, he comes up with an alternative plan: Let Sienna sleep with both men—at the same time. Then she can make an informed decision as to which man she wants.
Sienna shouldn’t want to go through with this shockingly sexy plan, but she does. Desperately. Except after the sexual storm passes, she could have it all…or be left holding an empty heart.
Warning: Contains a suggestion beyond risqué, a solution beyond orgasmic, and two men who know how to play dirty. Really, really dirty.
ISLAND IDYLL: A short, naughty excerpt
She looked at him sideways. “You were my fantasy for five years.”
“That’s the problem with fantasies. They’re never as good in the flesh.”
She gasped. “You’re kidding, right?”
“I never kid about fantasies.”
“Damn it, Josh. Your flesh looks good enough to lick.”
He said nothing, merely raised an eyebrow in her direction.
Don’t blush. Do not blush. “Know what I used to call you back in school?”
“Josh?” he hazarded.
“Nice try.” She rolled her eyes. “But wrong. I called you Josh Lie-With-Me.”
The eyebrow lifted higher.
“Because all I freaking wanted to do was lie with you. Even for just five minutes.”
He threw his head back and laughed out loud, the first genuine emotion he’d shown since he’d begun telling her his sorry story. “See, princess. That’s why you and I could never have worked. You and your angelic ways. You had a crush on me for five years, and all you wanted to do was lie with me?”
“No, you moronic halfwit. I had a crush on you for five years, and all I wanted to do, even if it only lasted five minutes, was fuck your brains out.”

Why I Write about Underdogs by Jan Irving
Something about the underdog has always caught me under my breast bone. I really feel for someone who is bullied or who feels unworthy, unloved.
Feeling for the underdog caught me with my first book, The Janitor. Dane was a guy who was used to being over looked, to being considered stupid and trash. And yet, he’s a fighter by nature so he finds the stuff inside himself to go for a shy university student, even though he is outclassed.
I connect with my people through their pain. It’s what’s real, what’s wrong in their life and I hope over the course of a book to journey with them as they try to find a place that is right for them. It might be the beginning of healing, it might be standing up.
When I set out to write Wounded Cowboy, my early October Uncommon Cowboys release from Total E Bound, I immediately connected with Luka. I’d written a little about him in Shy Cowboy. In fact, at first he seems like a villain, but in the course of that story, it becomes apparent that first impressions are not always true. Luka is a perfect example of this quote from Rainer Marie Rilke:
‘”Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”’
Here is an excerpt from Wounded Cowboy:
Hunched at his place at Charlie’s battered maple dining table, Luka reached tentatively for a roll. When Charlie didn’t say or do anything, he snatched one and then began to stuff it down, eating with his eyes closed, totally absorbed in the food.
When he choked, Charlie reached out but dropped his hand before he made contact, afraid of spooking Luka. “Easy.”
Colour heated Luka’s cheeks and he averted his gaze. He stared at the bowl of stew and then at Charlie, who was eating with a spoon. Suddenly Charlie knew what was wrong. Fucked if he knew why, but he was certain that Luka was unused to using cutlery.
Charlie put down his spoon and raised his bowl to his lips. After a moment, Luka did the same, mimicking him.
“Not too much, Luka,” Charlie said.
Luka ignored him, gulping, his throat working hard as he downed the stew. He dropped the tin bowl a second later, splashing hot stew everywhere.
“Luka!”
Luka dashed through the door and Charlie’s boots rang as he ran after him. Luka got as far as the tall grass by the woods before he vomited.
Charlie forced himself to stay where he was, fingers digging into a post by the door as Luka retched, over and over again. When had he last eaten anything?
Finally Charlie forced himself to return to the dining table and wiped up the mess. Luka would come back when he was ready. Charlie had worked with wary creatures before.
The creak of the door, a soft, “I’m sorry.”
“Nothing to be sorry for. You’re hungry.”
Luka came a little closer. “More like starving.”
Why was Luka in such bad shape? Charlie’s temper rose again. He sat on his questions, not wanting to make Luka feel any more miserably self-conscious.
“Sit. I’ll bring some bread and butter. And a glass of water.”
“But—“
“It’s okay. We should have started with that. It was my mistake, Luka, not yours. Sit. I’ll get it.”
***
I’m also a sucker for a hero who gives good comfort. All the stories in the Uncommon Cowboys have the theme of healing and finding love. Right now I’m working on book six and I’m writing about a father who lost his son, who thinks he’s too old to fall in love, too beaten up by life. I hope by the time I’ve left their world that hope will touch the lives of my people.

It takes more than a rock star to rock your world. Sometimes you need a friend.
Bandicoot Cove, Book 3
McKenzie Wood is Australia’s star gossip mag journalist, and she’s just spied the story of a lifetime: rumor-shrouded rock star, Nick Blackthorne—who thinks he’s incognito at Bandicoot Cove resort. The word is Nick’s a sex addict about to come out of the closet, and who better to lure Nick out than her BFF, Aiden Rogers—a pulse-poundingly gorgeous firefighter who is always there when she needs him, no matter the challenge.
Aiden admits it’s pretty damned pathetic that he can rush into burning buildings, but not have the guts to tell McKenzie he’s in love with her. No way can he tell his best friend he’d like to do some seriously sinful things to her, especially since she’s never shown one iota of sexual interest.
Nick looks forward to some “unfamous” downtime in his home country. He’s surprised to find his creative muse stirred—more like brought to rigid attention—by a couple so sexy that all he can think about is the three of them. Together.
Three bodies move together as one, and the music becomes a smoldering beat that rivals the island’s heat. When the truth inevitably comes out, the heat might be enough to save three souls…or end up just another sinner’s lament.

Free book, free weekend away…You interested?
I know there are a few things I find irresistible: a good book and a weekend away from the chaos of real life. Mmm, admit, it sounds incredible.
Well, I have good news for you. I can offer you both of these things, absolutely free.
Sounds tempting, doesn’t it?
Here’s the deal. Bandicoot Cove, the luxury Island resort just off the Queensland Coast of Australia, is opening its doors to the public. Hotel Manager, Kylie Sullivan is desperate to make sure that when those doors open, and the first paying guests arrive for their stay, everything is perfect.
What better way to organize this than to have a soft opening? A trial run to make sure there are no hiccups. She invites her close friends and family (and perhaps an international star or two) to enjoy the luxuries of the resort—on the house.
The good news is, you’ve been invited too.
Now I know you can’t make it in person. But that’s okay. You can share in the joy of the resort through four books, written by Vivian Arend, Lexxie Couper and myself. The books are all set on Bandicoot Cove. Three of them take place at the soft opening, and one just a couple of weeks before.
There’s something magical in the air on this island. People tend to fall in love. And they tend to fall hard. Kylie should know. She’s fallen hard herself. FOR THREE MEN! She suspects that her friends may experience the same joy and happiness she has on the Island.
Kylie’s story, Exotic Indulgence, the first book in the Bandicoot Cove Anthology, is being offered FREE to readers. It becomes available today, Tuesday the 23rd of August, and you can download your copy at:

Exotic Indulgence: The Blurb
It’s time for an indulgence, or two…or three.
Bandicoot Cove, Book 1
There’s something magical about Bandicoot Cove. It’s where Kylie Sullivan’s dream of managing a luxury, five-star resort is about to come true. And it’s where people tend to fall in love. Kylie should know. She’s fallen hard—for three very different men.
There’s Brad, who knows just how to relieve her stress and send her body on a crash course through pleasure. Hemi, her untamed Maori, who awakens her primitive side. And Finn, the sexy bartender whose specialty is Screaming Orgasms.
The three men fulfill all her sexual fantasies, but Kylie knows reality will eventually set in and she’ll have to choose. But how? For now she decides not to decide—at least until she makes sure the resort’s soft opening comes off without a hitch.
As far as Brad, Hemi and Finn are concerned, Kylie’s life is too much work and not enough play. The only choice they plan to give her is to say yes to their wildly passionate proposal…

Three sexy men pleasing one uninhibited woman—how much more warning do you need? This short story is long on heat, with a drool-worthy setting and sexual interludes in the office, at the beach and the bar. You want a day job like this.
Be warned: These books are all sexy as hell. Oh, and very explicit. And they’re all ménages. And after reading them, you may find yourself utterly desperate for your own island escape. (If so, then our job here is done.)

Being a romance author is a dream come true. Making up the stories—the plot, the characters. Creating these dream-men and the ultra romantic, super sexy adventures they take the heroines on is like eating mocha chocolate chip ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and losing weight while doing it. Decadence that pays.
But while I live and breathe writing romance, I’m actually living the most romantic tale of all. I met my boyfriend fifteen years ago at a nightclub. I was about 21, and Michel—not Michael; he’s Dutch—was 24. He was in town for a month to train for his new job in the oil industry.
We had a month-long whirlwind romance. It was passionate and intense. He was sweet, fun, intelligent, and romantic, all wrapped into a gorgeous package. If his piercing blue eyes didn’t drive me crazy enough, his adorable Dutch accent definitely did me in. He was (still is) the epitome of “tall, dark, and handsome”. We were in love.
But it wasn’t meant to be. He finished training and moved to the Middle East for his job. He wanted me to fly out and see him, but I was young and very unfamiliar with the customs where he was living. Frankly, I was scared.
Sadly, we lost touch. Our lives went separate ways, and I got married to someone else.
Then came Facebook. I can’t remember who found whom, but twelve years later, we reconnected online. I was still married at the time, so we chatted every now and then. But Michel eventually deactivated his account. As quickly as he came back into my life, he was gone.
Meanwhile, my marriage wasn’t going so hot. I got divorced and spent all my time being a single mom, a teacher, and an author. To say I was too busy to date would be an understatement.
Then one afternoon, I logged on to Facebook and clicked the button to see who was online to chat. And there he was. My heart did a little flip. I immediately started a chat with him. We had a bit of small talk, and then the conversation went something like this:
Me: So, are you married yet?
Him: No, I never got married.
Me: Oh, well…do you have a girlfriend?
Him: No girlfriend at the moment.
Me: Really? Did I mention I’m divorced?
Him: How interesting…
Anyway, you get the point. That was in January. We emailed, instant messaged, Skyped, etc. every day after that. In March, he flew me out to Holland to spend a week with him.
When I walked out of customs at the airport, he was standing there with a single red rose. His grin melted my heart. It was just like in the movies. I ran to him, dropped my bags and threw myself into his arms. We hugged. We kissed. It was like the past fifteen years of separation hadn’t happened. We picked up right where we left off all those years ago.
He told me that the reason he reactivated his Facebook account was that he had a dream that someone was looking for him. Something in the universe compelled him to log on seconds before I clicked on the chat list. Literally seconds.
Is it fate? Serendipity? Who knows? But it definitely feels like it was meant to be.
And my story isn’t over yet. He’s moving to Texas to be with me. My life is the ultimate romance novel—every day a new page in the most exciting adventure a girl can have. I can’t wait to get to the next chapter!

She sensed them as they drew closer to her – many different spirits, their energy buzzing on varying frequencies.
“One at a time, guys. Please.” she said. But they didn’t listen. These were the spirits of the mentally ill, after all. Taking turns wasn’t their concern, and they all rushed her. She felt their presence closing in on her like an avalanche, and she was consumed. Every mental illness imaginable was thrown into her psyche as she tightened her grip on Gage’s hand and slumped down in her chair.
“Allison! Allison, are you okay?” Gage’s voice was a distant echo as she fought to hold on to herself. She was slipping. Sliding into the depths of despair and the spirits were pulling her down.
“It’s . . .No . . .There’s a light . . .You need to . . .You need to go to it.” She tried to help the spirits cross over, but they wouldn’t listen. There were too many. Twenty at least, and they were so consumed by their own illnesses they thought of nothing else. Paranoia, depression, anxiety. Allison felt it all, and it was going to kill her. The pressure. So hard to breath. Her hands cradled her head as the migraine overtook her. Sharp, pounding pain had her crumpled on the floor as she drew her knees into her chest and rocked back and forth.
“Make it stop. Please, just make it stop.” She was paralyzed. Frozen by the anguish of the tortured souls that forced themselves upon her. Hot tears streamed down her face and blood trickled from her nose. She gasped for air as she heard a faint voice call, “Get her out of here!”

The Boundaries ~ Book One
Boundary Guardian Zeric Arctos knows trouble when he sees it – and Raavelian sex-slave Jaienna Ti screams all sorts of trouble. Tracking a nefarious Bliss dealer, Zeric must stay focused on the job, something almost impossible to do with Jaienna in his midst. To make matters worse, the seductive Raavelian brings out the ‘animal’ in him – an ancient blood curse he has struggled to control his whole life. The beast now threatens to consume him and Jaienna’s intoxicating kisses makes the primitive call so much harder to resist.
Jaienna Ti is out for revenge. And she’ll stop at nothing to achieve it. Posing as a sex-slave isn’t the worst thing she’s done – she is, after all an Intel-Patrol Corp termination agent, albeit a rogue one – but it’s definitely one of the more interesting roles she’s assumed. And it gets even more interesting when Zeric Arctos ‘rescues’ her.
Surely being an intergalactic sexual assassin has to come with some perks, right?
An erotic sci-fi romance.

L.C. Chase and Long Tall Drink
Every summer, I volunteer at a local rodeo with my Mom. We do it more than to be a part of the action, but because he both have a thing for that elusive cowboy. You know the one. He’s tall and walks with a swagger all his own. He’s rugged but soft around the edges. Soft spoken and always polite and considerate. So last year when my Mom and I were working, that perfect cowboy walked past, nodded his head ever-so-slightly as he tapped the brim of his hat with leather-gloved finger, and said, “’mornin’ ladies.”
Swoon.
Once he was out of earshot my Mom turns around and says, “Now that was a long tall drink.”
I didn’t realize at the time, that my Mom had just titled my new M/M romance novel, LONG TALL DRINK. And of course, that phrase had to be used within the story itself. Below is a short excerpt that includes the story’s namesake. Enjoy!
* * *
A moving flash of gold light ahead, like a distress signal, pulled him from his thoughts. Focusing on the source of the signal, Ray made out the shape of a lone cowboy camouflaged in faded jeans and a tan jacket, walking along the cracked edge of rough road, a beat-up dust-colored duffel bag heaped over his shoulder. If the sun hadn’t reflected off a buckle, Ray probably wouldn’t have noticed the man until he was on him.
Closing in on the wanderer, Ray realized the smooth, effortless gait couldn’t really be called a walk, more like a swagger.
The cowboy turned around and hooked his thumb to the sky. Long legs planted shoulder-width apart staked his ground. The collar of the well-worn ranch jacket was flipped up, shielding against the chill spring breeze that danced across the plains from the East.
Even though dark sunglasses and a cowboy hat that sat low on the brow worked together to hide most of his face, it was his presence alone that seemed to command attention.
Ray wasn’t one for picking up hitchhikers—not that there were many, if any, on this deserted stretch of US-310, especially in the early hours of a Sunday morning—but something about the man on the side of the road compelled him.
Before he’d thought it through, his foot had moved from the gas pedal to the brake. As if on its own accord, the truck pulled off the two-lane highway, steel-belted tires growling over rumble strips, and came to a stop fifty yards beyond where the cowboy stood. Dust billowed into a small tornado in the wake of the vehicle’s draft, obscuring the man from view. Ray watched in his rearview mirror as the cowboy stepped out of the swirling cloud like a rising phoenix—or the hero in an action movie emerging in slow motion unscathed from a fireball.
“Well, would you look at that,” Ray mumbled. “There’s a long, tall drink of sexy if I ever did see one.”
Lean legs ate up the pavement with an unhurried stride only a truly confident man could master. Now that the cowboy was facing the bright morning sun, the concealing Stetson and sunglasses couldn’t hide the slightly crooked nose, strong square jaw, cleft chin, and lips worthy of exploration.
An odd niggle of anticipation teased the edges of Ray’s consciousness.
He turned off the radio and pressed a button on his armrest to lower the passenger-side window as the cowboy reached the truck. The hitcher removed his sunglasses and leaned in. Intelligent, deep green eyes flecked with bronze, a hint of mischief sparked in their shadows, gazed back at Ray.
“Where you headed, cowboy?”
“Bridger.” Just one word and the deep, resonant voice sent an unexpected spike of heat through Ray’s nervous system.
The words escaped before his brain caught up. “You’re in luck. Hop in.”
The cowboy flashed a magazine-cover smile that revealed impossibly white teeth and inclined his head. “Thanks.”
He opened the door, tossed his duffel on the backseat, and climbed gracefully into the cab. A rush of cold air followed him in and swirled around Ray’s legs.
The quad cab of the fire-engine red Dodge Ram 3500 shrank to the size of a Mini Cooper as the man settled into the leather bucket seat beside him. Ray watched as his passenger hit the button to close the window and buckled himself in. He was tall, solid, and exuded a kinetic energy that could knock a bottle off the fence at a hundred paces.
The cowboy turned to face him, and time stretched out in weighted silence. A glint in the man’s eye held Ray captive, as though he were on the verge of sharing a great secret—a secret Ray suddenly wanted to know. Needed to know.
A crooked grin spread across the ruggedly handsome face. “Name’s Travis.”
The skin at the back of Ray’s neck warmed. He nodded. “Ray.”
Time continued to saunter on without them as they sat facing each other, immobile, truck idling smoothly. Travis broke the time glitch by tapping his forefinger to the brim of his hat, his intense gaze not leaving Ray’s. In that deep, whiskey voice, he drawled, “S’a pleasure, Ray.”
