Ebook Addict Reviews Interviews Romance Author Cherish D’Angelo
EAR: Today romance author Cherish D’Angelo joins us during her latest book tour. Thank you for joining us today, Cherish. You have a special event on right now. Tell us what’s happening.
Cherish: I’m in the middle of the biggest online book tour I’ve ever done. In fact, I think it’s the biggest online tour any author has done. Over 108 stops in 15 days, with prizes given away every day. I’m calling it my “Cherish the Romance” Virtual Book Tour because it launches my first romance novel, Lancelot’s Lady.
EAR: What sub-genre of romance is Lancelot’s Lady, and why did you choose this sub-genre?
Cherish: Lancelot’s Lady is a romantic suspense―a scintillating mix of steamy sensuality and ominous danger. I chose romantic suspense because I like the danger aspect. I love creating suspense in my novels, throwing in red herrings and adding unexpected twists. Since I write suspense thriller as Cheryl Kaye Tardif, venturing into romance led me directly to romantic suspense. I think it’s a perfect fit.
EAR: Lancelot’s Lady takes place on a private island in the Bahamas for the most part. What made you choose that setting?
Cherish: I chose the fictional Angelina’s Isle for two reasons: 1) I love tropical islands and lived in Bermuda for 3 years. 2) I knew that throwing my two main characters together on a private and isolated island–with no way off until the next boat came–would leave my heroine Rhianna at the mercy of the handsome Jonathan.
EAR: Rhianna has a terrible past. How did you deal with her trauma in the novel?
Cherish: Rhianna is a damaged soul with a troubled childhood. She’s overcome horrible obstacles to get where she is today, but her past is holding her back from fully loving anyone. I knew from day one that this character had a history that would get in the way of her finding happiness. I do mention the main incident in her past, but I decided not to make it such a strong point that people would find it tiring or clichéd. Rather than dwell on her past, I wanted to show that Rhianna has moved on the best way she can. Then she meets Jonathan and he breaks down the wall Rhianna has built around her heart.
EAR: How long did it take you to write Lancelot’s Lady?
Cherish: Five months. I did start with an early draft, though most of the story changed dramatically. What spurred me on was the Dorchester “Next Best Celler” contest I entered at Textnovel.com. I finished Lancelot’s Lady before the contest ended and I even made it to the semi-finals.
EAR: Thanks again for visiting Ebook Addict Reviews and for telling us about Lancelot’s Lady. I understand you have some prizes during your tour and that anyone who leaves a comment here will receive a free ebook.
Cherish: That’s true. I want to reward anyone who chooses to spend time following me on my tour, so I’m giving away ebooks every day and at nearly every stop. The contest details are below. Thank you so much for featuring me here. Happy reading, everyone!

I love the sound of this book. It’s very exciting with all that mystery involved. I like reading about damaged characters that have overcome their past. It draws me closer to the characters.
