The Gentleman and the Rogue by Bonnie Dee and Summer Devon Reviewed by Kathy K.

This book is available for purchase at Loose Id.

This is the second book that I’ve read by the writing team of Bonnie Dee and Summer Devon and I find that I enjoyed it just as much, if not a little more, than their first, Seducing Stephen.
The Gentleman and the Rogue is an emotionally riveting tale and I couldn’t get enough of Jem and Alan. Their beginnings were not terribly auspicious, but what tempted Alan to take the step he did is very much the key to the story. Alan couldn’t bear to go on any longer; he’d lost so much in a relatively short time it’s no wonder. But watching as Jem, and his wonderful personality, began to turn Alan around was very touching.

As for the last third of the story no way did I expect the suspense and the danger that faced the two men. It was actually quite exciting… and somewhat horrifying. I have to say that, as a fan of historicals, The Gentleman and the Rogue fit the time frame very well. I’m in no way an expert, but I’ve read many, many books set in the same period and it matched very well.

Bonnie Dee and Summer Devon have an excellent way with their characters and the way that their stories unfold. Even had I not already been a fan of this duo I would definitely have become one after reading this, their latest.
Very nicely done! And here’s hoping that you have many more stories yet to come.

Book Description:
A lad from the streets meets a lord of the manor…

When Crimean war veteran Sir Alan Watleigh goes searching for sex, he never imagines the street rat he brings home for one last bit of pleasure in his darkest hour will be the man who hauls him back from the edge of the grave.

A night of meaningless sex turns into an offer of permanent employment. As Alan’s valet, Jem offers much more than polished boots and starched cravats. He makes Alan smile and warms his bed. Just as the men are adjusting to their new living arrangement, news about a former soldier under his command sends Sir Watleigh and Jem on the road to save a child in danger.

The journey brings them closer together as they travel from lust toward love. But is Alan’s love strong enough to risk society discovering the truth about him?

Publisher’s note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may objectionable: Male / male sexual practices.
