MIA Case Files: Wolfsbane by KC Burn

Wolfsbane is available for purchase at Loose Id.
This was not only an enjoyable paranormal story it was a wonderful romance. I was going to say ‘sweet’, and it was in some ways, but the characters, especially Carmichael, really couldn’t be called anything like sweet. Adam on the other hand, I can call cute AND sweet AND sexy. KC Burns has written a strong character-driven story rather than one that is action filled. There isn’t a lot of information on the Umbrae; it seems that they’re mostly background, but what there was worked for me. I did get the impression that we may, hopefully, get more MIA Case Files stories in the future… and I’ll be very happy with that!
The focus of the book was definitely the relationship between Adam and Carmichael, and for the romance it was excellent.
However, if you’re hoping for more emphasis on the paranormal / werewolf element or more action, less relationship you may be disappointed. But for me, I was in no way left feeling let down; I’m a romance junkie and K.C. Burns and Wolfsbane left me satisfied all the way.

Book Teaser: Werewolves are coming through an open portal and one of them wants Adam Farelli. Agent Lachlan Carmichael can’t let that happen, even if it means stepping out of the closet for the town’s sexiest screw-up.
Book Description: Agent Lachlan Carmichael has a job to do. A portal is open in Rothburg, and this time the Umbrae passing through it are creating werewolves. He needs to close the portal, even if it means losing two-thirds of the people possessed by the Umbrae.
So what if Adam Farelli, the town’s screw-up, is the sexiest man he’s ever seen? Carmichael’s been content to live with ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ for most of his life. A gorgeous, shiftless layabout isn’t going to convince him to step out of the closet.
But when Carmichael needs Adam’s help to close the portal, he’s unable to resist the temptation Adam represents. But his lies and lack of trust put Adam in danger when one of the werewolves, obsessed with Adam, kidnaps him. Even if Carmichael can save the man he’s grown to love, he’s going to have to convince Adam to forgive him.
